How breast size changes?

When girls  reaches  puberty, the first visible sign of breast growth start to show. At this time the ovaries start to produce and release the hormone called estrogen, fat in the connective tissue starts to build up. This causes the breast to enlarge. The duct system also starts to grow and often underarm hair and hair on vaginal area appear.

At the time of ovulation and menstruation start, the breasts begin to mature and glands form at the end of milk ducts. The breast and duct system continue to grow and mature with the development of many glands and lobules. The rate of breast growth may be different for each young girl.

When breasts Growth begin?

Normally breasts growth begins between the ages of 8 and 13 years. The breasts gradually form mammary glands and fatty tissue during this time, this process can continue until the age of 18. At this point the breasts have typically reached their final size, which is ultimately determined by young girl’s genetics and weight. However, once puberty has been completed, breast tissue may undergo further changes due to hormones.

Since the nourishing of an infant with breast milk is the primary function of the breast, as mammary glands. Milk is produced in milk secreting cells in the alveoli. When the baby stimulates the breasts by sucking, oxytocin is secreted by mother’s brain. High levels of oxytocin trigger the contraction of muscle cells surrounding the alveoli, it causes the milk to flow along the ducts that connect the alveoli to the nipple.

The nipple is in the centre of a darker area of skin called the areola. The areola contains small glands called Montgomery glands, which use to lubricate the nipple during breastfeeding. Fat fills the spaces between the lobes and ducts.
